Ciara's Desert Island Keepers

Good morning, my dears! I have brought Kit here to the island with me. He is an inventor and artist by trade, but makes a fetching cover model, if I do say so myself. One must love a man who is good with his hands. Kit shall build me a steamship out of coconut fronds while I type my story on the portable typewriter he has brought (please see photo below. the typewriter is behind him). Occasionally I shall allow him a brief respite beneath my parasol. Perhaps, if he is very, very good, he might be allowed to, ahem, loosen my stays should the weather prove too hot. All in all, I believe we shall have a smashing good time.

In addition to my six books, I shall borrow Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne, Sabriel by Garth Nix, and anything by Meljean Brook.

In the spirit of the Desert Island Interviews that I enjoy springing on unsuspecting authors, I have filmed my comments on my six book choices for your viewing pleasure. Please forgive my slips of the tongue. I was quite nervous.

My additions to the Desert Island Library:

1. You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister
2. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione
3. Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews
4. The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn
5. This Heart of Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
6. The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle

Ciara!!! I have a huge smile on my face.

1) Love what you chose to do , very clever;

2) you are too cute!

3) OMG first edition of Peter and Wendy????????? ARE YOU CRAZY TO BRING THIS TO THE ISLAND? The sand will ruin it!

4) loved your other books too - a fellow Julia Quinn admirer! : )

awesome.

Thanks! You are right. The sand! But if I am to die on the island (which would be an awfully big adventure), I choose to be buried with my Peter. What better place to channel Neverland than on our desert island? We shall hail it "not as something long dreamt of and seen at last, but as a familiar friend to whom [we] were returning home for the holidays."

Fantastic post. I love your video!!!

But I'm afraid you'll have to duel with me for the rights to bring Pleasure Unbound, my friend. ;)

LOL -- omg, Ana is right -- this was so clever!

And *blushes* thanks for the kind words about Pleasure Unbound! And I guess I should spill the beans about E's name, huh? It's EYE-duh-lawn. Totally Stephanie (Tyler)'s fault that it's hard to pronounce. Her idea. Really. I'm totally naming one of her characters something insane soon...

Ciara, what a great way to tell about your favorite books. I'm with Ana, aren't you worried about getting sand on Peter and Wendy?

Dueling over pleasure unbound? Maybe I'll have to read it.

Wow, I used to chat with Kit ages and ages ago (because the mid to late 90's is so, you know, last millenium). Kit seems to be inspiring quite a few ladies here in erotic romance land. He's helped inspire two of my characters, while I recently caught pics of him over at Ciar Cullen's blog, too. I can't help but giggle as I wonder what he'd think of his status as "sexy steampunk cover boy" for women who read spicy romance.

Ciara that was great! What a wonderful way to tell us about your books!

I agree with Ana - 1st ed. Peter and Wendy on the Island? Sheer Craziness!

Jenb- thanks!

Alys - I won't share peter and wendy. I won't! I won't! But the other ones, sure. I usually read better, but I was stumbling over words.

Katrina - lol. I googled "steampunk male model" and found him. Those photos are great. Perfect cover model material. Move over Nathan Kamp!

Tracy - thanks! Maybe tomorrow I'll show off the rest of my collection. lol. Y'all thought I was a dork before...

You are too cute. Great video and books. I have to read The Last Unicorn. I watched it SO many times when I was little. I bought it on DVD about 6 or 7 months ago. So great.

Wasn't Pleasure Unbound fabulous? Can't wait for March. ::waves at Larissa::
