Mychael Black - DIK Day 3 - Opposites Attract

Opposites attract.

What more can you ask for?

I have a weakness for this particular kind of pairing - where the men are so incredibly different, that you'd think they'd never stand a chance together.

Look at Cian Carmichael and Mael Black, for example. An rogue-vamp-hunting angel and a vampire prince. One light, one dark. One who knows his heart, one who doesn't believe he even has one. Both are incredibly strong alone, but together, they've weathered much more than one man ever could.

So for my last day, I want to know what your favorite opposites-attract stories are. Give me some good titles to add to my TBR list!

Thanks to the DIK ladies and all of you for letting me play!

Mychael Black - DIK Day 2 - Contest

It's no big secret that I'm obsessed with Wales. Part of it is due to my ancestry on my mother's side (my dad's side is Scottish), and part is due to years of research and reading that led me to fall in love with the small country. (And yes, I do indeed consider it a country unto itself.)

So today, I have a simple contest for you. Tell me where YOU would love to go, if you had to pick just one place, and WHY you want to go there.

I'll put all entries into my black cowboy hat and let my daughter draw one name. The winner will receive their choice of ANY of my books: http://www.mychaelblack.com/books.html

ALL entries must be in by Saturday morning, at 10am Central time. Email to: mychaelblack@gmail.com with subject 'DIK'.

About Me - Mychael Black - DIK Day 1

Favorite Reading Position:
I usually recline, book or laptop on my legs. If my back is aching, though, I lay on my stomach, torso/chest on pillows (and my son sitting on my back if he’s awake).

Best love song: Oh, wow. Too many to go rattlin’ ‘em off. *laughs* Some faves that I’d dedicate to my partner Zathyn include - ‘I Can’t Fight This Feeling’ (REO Speedwagon), ‘I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You’ (Savage Garden), the list goes on.

Favorite Heroine: That's a toughie. I'm picky about heroines in books since I don't generally read het romances. If I had to pick one, though, it'd be Llynya from Glenna McReynold's Dream Stone (sequel book in her medieval fantasy romance trilogy). Llynya is a warrior elf of the Tylwyth Teg elves, and one kick-ass woman.

Author everyone loves but you don’t: Probably JK Rowling. It’s not that I don’t like her, per se. I just can’t get into her writing style. She’s brilliant, though, in the world she’s created for the Harry Potter books.

If you could be in one book/series/world which would you pick: That’s a three-way tie between Glenna’s aforementioned medieval fantasy world, Jourdan Lane’s Soul Mates world, and mine and Shayne’s Romanorum world.

How old is your inside voice: *laughs* Depends on what I’m writing and my mood. Usually somewhere between mid-20s and mid-30s.

Favorite sex song: ‘Prison Sex’ by Tool. *grins*

If you could be a hero who would you be: Dain Lavrans from Glenna’s first medieval book The Chalice and the Blade.

What heroine is most like you: Uhhh... I have no frickin’ idea. O.o

What heroine would you like to be: Either Llynya (above) or Cerridwen (who gets Dain).

Boxers, Briefs, boxer briefs, kilt (I say we add commando): *chuckles* Boxer briefs, usually black.

Favorite book set on a tropical island: Ya know... I don’t think I’ve ever read one that was set on a tropical island. Hm...

What hero is most like your significant other: *grins* Zathyn has no equal. He’s too unique.

What hero would you like to be your significant other: Nada. I wouldn’t trade Zath for the world.

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you bring: Pen, notebook, Zathyn. (Though I seriously doubt I’d actually get any writing done. *winks*)

Favorite drink to bring to the DIK party: Hm... I don’t drink alcohol, so gimme Mountain Dew
.
