Eye Candy

Every year, Models.com creates a comprehensive list of the top fifty male models in the world. This makes for an overwhelming but delicious display of the most beautiful men on this planet. True, I was taught never to judge a book by its cover, but then again: books never had me drooling.

Mark Cox (#21)
Why I love him: He's classically handsome. With the hard jaw, full lips, and smoldering gaze, this Dutch model can sweep me off my feet any day.

Fun fact: Mark studied at Utrecht and worked as a car dealer before getting bored with the job after two years; eventually he was scouted in Amsterdam. Lucky for us!

Francisco Lachowski (#23)
Why I love him: That face! So innocent, yet so, so divine.

Fun fact: Brazilian-born Francisco may seem totally professional, but he's only been modeling for a year. He was discovered at the age of 18 and fell into the whirlwind model business immediately.

Marlon Teixeira (#16)
Why I love him: He's got the face of a sexy Lothario and the body of a god. Drool drool drooooool.

Fun fact: Marlon is keen on travelling; his dream destinations Indonesia, Maldives, Hawaii, and Australia.

David Agbodji (#7)
Why I love him: Nigerian David is pretty much flawless. Just look at those cheekbones! His exotic looks combined with his lean frame, poreless skin, and dark, intriguing complexion has me growling agape.

Fun fact: He considers himself shy. Aww!

Ollie Edwards (#15)
Why I love him: His eyes could break your heart.

Fun fact: The infamous scar on British Ollie's abdomen was acquired by a very unfortunate slip 'n' slide incident. (If you're faint at heart, cover your eyes): at four years old, he was going down it in his back garden, when he went over a chipped stone, which sliced up his stomach. But when strangers asked him about his scar, he says he was cut open by a Samurai sword. It's much cooler.

Josh Beech (#13)
Why I love him: Josh is the ultimate bad boy. Maybe it's those tattoos, or maybe it's that permanent (and oddly arousing) scowl of his. Regardless, his dangerous looks rank him high internationally, and with good reason.

Fun fact: Be still my beating heart! This one's a band junkie. Lead singer for his rock group, Swish, in fact.

Ben Hill (#5)
Why I love him: Let's give it up for ruggedly handsome and breathtakingly gorgeous, shall we? This guy's the face of Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo, and Hugo Boss.

Fun fact: American Ben studied to become an industrial electrician, but retired his toolbox after appearing in the always buzzworthy "Abercrombie & Fitch" Quarterly in 2008.

You ladies swooning yet?

Miss Sweet and her Pretty Boys

'Morning Darlings *waves*
I'm Miss Sweet, visiting over here from Sweet Vernal Zephyr. Thanks so much for the invitation!

Today is a special day for me, its my birthday. I've even got on my super sexy birthday shoes! Palehorse Design is awesome!

And what better way to celebrate than with some pretty boys?
Well, I guess chocolate would be a good addition.
And some liquor too. Hum, this is shaping up to be one hot party!

Let's place all that to the side and get to the heart of the matter. *Reaches out a neatly manicured hand to coax the pretty boys to her side.*

Pretty Boys, yes or no?

I'm sure you can guess my preference. *Entwines her fingers with both pretty boys' hands.* But I want to know yours, and WHY.

After I argue my case. *Wink.*

1) Pretty boys are easy on the eyes, hence the descriptor "pretty".
2) Pretty boys are easy on the ears, more prone to blush than bellow.
3) Pretty boys are easy, and like to play in groups.
4) Pretty boys are easily accepted into your extended family.

Now all of the above are unabashed generalizations that I wish were true of the entire general public. But since we are here on the Island, my fantasy stands! *Grin.*

Since I am a book blogger, I probably should integrate some of my favorite reads.

Take the sexy Hell, from the Heaven Sent Series. He is a Pretty Gay Boy. And he looks especially striking on his cover. Straight up, I am envious of his long purple hair and flashy clothes.

Seth, from the Georgina Kincaid Series is a Pretty Good Boy. In the beginning at least. We don't see too much of his body throughout the series, but at times Georgina becomes absolutely obsessed! Actually, I kinda hate him right now. But that is a story for my blog reviews. *Wink.*

And now, a couple of pictures to patch up those holes in my argument. A few of my prettiest boys.

Nyx, from book 1 of the Shadowfae Chronicles. A pretty fairy boy. In the story he has green skin, gold hair and red eyes.

Nathaniel, from the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Series. A pretty dancing werepanther boy with lavender eyes and a tendency towards BSDM and playing the victim. Good thing Anita is always there to save him.

Hum, now that I think about it, there are a lot more Big Bad Boys in the stories I read. Is it possible there may be a few minute pinholes in my case?

1) Big boys can pick you up with out a fuss, ahhh to feel petite at 5' 9".
2) Big boys can protect you from bad guys, and yourself—whether you want it or not.
3) Big boys look awesome in any combination of dirt and leather.
4) Big boys will scare your parents. Is this good or bad?

I do have quite the lusting for Barrons from the Fever Series. Humm...

So, what do you say?
Do you go for the Pretty Boys or the Big Bad Boys?

Cops versus Firemen

Happy Monday!

The craziest thing happened this weekend on my blog. For those who don’t know, I write a purely naughty series with heroes who are narcotics detectives in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. My new release, Star Spangled Kiss (out today) takes place on the Fourth of July. During the story, the characters play a pool-volleyball game. I decided to use pictures to bring the scene to life. I asked the blog-tour visitors to choose a team to support during the match. The most unexpected thing happened.

Almost all my visitors chose THE FIREFIGHTER over the cops.

How is that possible? Cops are just delicious, intense, and sexy. Plus, they have hand-cuffs. Okay, I admit, I am not the least unprejudiced. We are a cop family.

So, I’m bringing this debate here to you. I want to know who you prefer. I hope you don’t mind helping me. Depending on the results, I just might end up writing a companion story to the Kissin’ Cops. Something hot, dangerous and all about Gabe the fireman!

First, for your viewing pleasure and contemplation are the narcotics detectives. They are on Tyler’s team and ready to serve up a heated game. Determined to win, they hold nothing back.
Now for the fireman, he is on Gavin’s team. Those commenting on my blog have chosen to call him Team Gabe. I can’t believe he has his own team now!

Do you have a preference? Who would you want to play in the pool with? The cops or the fireman? Leave me a comment with your choice. One lucky commenter will be selected to win a digital copy of Star Spangled Kiss.

Before I go, I thought I would share with you a little bit of fun. I have witnessed, first-hand, the rivalry between the hose-hoppers and the fuzz. Bryan Erwin has a comedy series called Policeman Versus Fireman and he captures the hilarity with his puppets. When the boys get together and watch Erwin's clips, everyone laughs in harmony despite what badge they happen to wear.
Here is the cleanest vid I could find. I think it sums up the jovial contention perfectly! (The swearing is bleeped out on purpose!) For more of the videos check out Fireman Jake and Policeman Perry (Warnings for mature content!)

If you would like to see which team won the volleyball match or ride along with Tyler and Sophie in their romantic journey, Star Spangled Kiss releases today at Liquid Silver Books.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.
Thanks for blogging with me today.

Let's Talk About Sexy Men, by Jaci Burton

Let’s talk about sexy men. Oh, I know, you think because Bound, Branded & Brazen is set on a ranch and is about ranchers and cowboys that I’m talking about cowboys today. Well, yeah I love me some cowboys, those hat and Wrangler and boot wearin’ devils. I mean I think we can all agree that those guys are smokin’ hot and melt our butter. And okay, just for fun I did bring a few cowboy pictures with me because…damn….cowboys are sexy.

But that’s not who I’m talking about today. What defines a sexy man? Is it his profession? Maybe. My husband is an ironworker, and by the very nature of his job it defines who he is. He puts up the steel skeletons of a building in anything from a two-story to a fifty-story building, with nothing between him and the ground but a safety harness and his sure-footedness, in the highest winds and the harshest temperatures. And he’s been doing it for over thirty years. And before he did that he spent time jumping out of helicopters in Vietnam. So yes, I’d definitely define my husband as sexy, but of course I’m in love with him, so my opinion of him is certainly based on my heart. (He also looks pretty damn good in his Wranglers and cowboy boots. Rowrrrr).

But sexy also comes in many forms. Could an accountant or any other form of desk jockey be sexy? Could a computer technician or salesman be sexy? Could a trash collector or ditch digger or phone repairmen be sexy? Of course! I think any man can be sexy.

Let me tell you what I think defines sexy. Ever stand back and watch a man who’s peering into the engine of a car? A guy who can look at said engine and actually knows what he’s looking at? A guy who can get his hands dirty with motor oil and car grease and actually know how to fix what’s wrong? Oh, man, does that ever curl my toes.

Or a man who decides to build a dog house. From scratch. Without any plans other than wood and some nails. Or pounding in fence posts in 100 degree temperatures, sweat pouring down his neck and back while he measures the precise distance between those posts? Or a man who knows how to do all the fix it things in a house, from plumbing to electrical?

There’s something about intelligence mixed with hands on know how that I find so incredibly sexy. A man who doesn’t need to ‘hire out’ the dirty work, but actually enjoys doing it himself, no matter what his profession is. A man whose sense of accomplishment comes from doing those things himself using his brains as well as his brawn.

Or even beyond the physical labor….math. I find a man doing math to be an amazing turn on.

And then he’ll come in and do the dishes after his woman cooks dinner. Now that to me defines a sexy man.

Or how about a man that sits down and spends time with his children. A man that will turn off a football game to read with his son or daughter? I might just faint dead away.

Sexy is so much more than just physical looks. That might be what first drives us to the opposite sex, but it isn’t going to keep us there. There has to be something underneath that physical beauty to keep us interested. So I have this list of qualities that I have always thought important in a man, something I thought a man would have to have to be sexy enough to be a keeper:

1. Swagger – A man has to have confidence in himself. There’s nothing sexier in a man than a sense of self and his belief in himself. If a man is looking to you for his validation? Run like hell.

2. Honor – I want to know the man I love is an honorable man, a man with integrity and principles. A man that will put his woman and his family above everything else.

3. Respect – I always say you can judge a keeper of a man by how he treats his mother. If he doesn’t respect and honor his mother, he’s not going to respect and honor you. I’ve been around a pretty long time and I’ve found this to be true of most men I’ve known.

4. Intelligence – Sure he can look pretty, but there needs to be a brain to go along with that great ass, because smarts outweighs looks 100% of the time (at least for me).

5. Fearless - He has to be willing to take a bullet for me. And no, I’m not kidding because I’m willing to do the same for him. That’s what love is all about—self sacrifice.

So those are my thoughts on what makes a man sexy. Tell me yours.

Lea: What an excellent post, I think all those are sexy qualities too. *g* A huge thank you to Jaci Burton for spending the last 3 days here with us on the Island and for her generosity. I had a blast and I hope everyone who visited did too.

Contest is now closed. The winners will be announced soon!

He's a Harley-riding ex-thief working undercover for the government. She's a gun-toting ex-socialite hired to protect a valuable museum exhibit. But in her attempt to stop a heist, she never anticipated having her breath and her heart stolen...

Mac Canfield was the last man Lily West expected to see again, never mind aim her gun at. But here he was, the bad boy who'd broken her heart years ago-still a thief, this time high-jacking a priceless artifact--and it was all she could do to push aside the memories of how it felt to have his perfectly chiseled body next to hers.

Mac was no less shocked to see the beautiful girl-next-door all grown up, threatening to shoot him on the spot. Little did she know she was blowing his cover-and now he had to figure out how to get her out of harm's way without succumbing to his crazy desire to take her on a hot trip down memory lane.

Unfortunately, Lily has no intention of going anywhere with Mac. Which means he has to resort to kidnapping. Unless, of course, she agrees to let him take her for the kind of ride destined to drive them both unbelievably wild...
