It is day 2 of the best books you should place on your TBR pile for 2009. Historical Romance is my favorite genre to read. Instead of giving you just 5 books to choose from, I will be giving you so much Historical Romance you must have.

Seeing as I am your island book pimp, I have the top Historicals to tickle your fancy. Just as I was tickled by Rico last night...

I'm definitely looking forward to the Elizabeth Hoyt and Loretta Chase books.

I still have "Private Arrangements" on my TBR pile - must get around to reading it!

Ugh, they all look so good! Why? Why must I have such an out of control book addiction? Heaven knows I'll likely buy them all, lol.

Oh, and Meredith Duran rocks. The Duke of Shadows was amazing. I can't wait to read her next two

Oh, man. This is quite a year for historicals - these all look great!

I'm psyched about all the historical debut authors for this year - Miranda Neville, Vanessa Kelly, Kris Kennedy, Jennifer Haymore, Tessa Dare, Courtney Milan, and probably others I don't even know about yet. Last year gave us some amazing debuts, but this year's looking even better!

I *think* mine will be a 2009 release, probably in December. The sequel to What a Scoundrel Wants, currently titled Scoundrel's Kiss, is set in medieval Spain and features a recovering opium adict (Meg's sister Ada) and a warrior monk raised to kill a king.

I ahven't started the new Elizabeth Hoyt series yet. Currently she is the only historical romance author that I read. So at some point I'll be picking hers up. Especially as it sounds like it might be on a Beauty and the Beast theme, which is one of my favourites.

Can not wait for the new Hoyt! She is fast becoming one of my favourite historical authors! Also very excited at the prospect of a new Thomas. I am interested to see if she again uses the flashbacks as a tool to tell the story.

Hmmm, still haven't read Secret Diary of MC. Must get to that one!

Does Lisa Kleypas have a new historical out this year? If she does, I am very much looking forward to it!
