Delilah Marvelle...Day 1?

Okay, obviously, Delilah's not here. *headdesk* 99% of it is my fault since I dropped the ball. August snuck up on me and I messed up. Boo! However, I've emailed her and let her know she needs to send something NOW, so here's hoping it'll all be taken care of and you'll get to enjoy her tomorrow. She's an awesome lady and a friend, so *crossing fingers* I hope you'll enjoy her company too. :)

With that in mind, here's a little somethin' somethin' to make y'all happy until then. :)

Liane Gentry Skye - Day 3

Sadly today is Liane's last day on the island :( Thank you for hanging out and chatting with us, Liane! The winner of the signed Secrets Volume 27 is BreiaB and Liane will be contacting you shortly.

Blurb from Heart's Storm

I’ve never known anyone like her. And deep in his gut, Byron knew he never would again. Once the storm was over, he’d find a way to get Sirenia back to civilization, maybe even take her home with him for a while—if she agreed.

He grinned, considering what fun he’d have, watching those soft, blue eyes open onto a world where women were free to choose, even if that choice didn’t lead her to back to him.

That thought—the very idea of her offering her love to another—yanked at his heart. But the next thought, that she’d only gifted him with her virginity because of an imagined life debt hurt a helluva lot more.

To love freely…she deserves at least that much. She is far too spirited to survive as any man’s slave. And damn, she was gorgeous. No. Striking was a better word. Her rich curves saved her from coming off too athletic for his tastes. In spite of her statuesque size, there was a kittenish sweetness about her. He’d first felt it in her delicate touch as she tended his wounds and the shy way she peered at him through the golden sweep of her lashes when she thought he wasn’t watching.

She is…uncomplicated. Abandoning claim to better judgment, he allowed his eyes to caress the tumble of her hair, which ended just where her ass cut into her thighs.

And a magnificent ass it was.

Every time the wind shifted, it captured a new section of ringlets, offering him tantalizing glimpses of sculpted thighs and rounded butt cheeks.

No under-slung runway wannabe here. Sirenia de Mar-ala was one hundred percent female. She wore her rich nakedness like a comfortable pair of blue jeans. Nothing about her manner spoke of the emaciated frog hogs back home who prided themselves on wearing their SEAL boyfriends like this season’s Prada. Hell, they didn’t even seem to be from the same species.

“Sirenia?” Though his voice was little more than a hoarse whisper, the sultry sound of her name whispered of slow, sweet seduction. “Sirenia,” he repeated, louder this time.

She raised her head, turning it his way just enough so his eyes caught the elegant sweep of her cheekbone. A fresh sound invaded his mind, though it was something felt more than heard—like a soft, rhythmic thump-thud. A duel of drums sounding off in the distance. Urgent and insistent. Beckoning…

Before Byron knew it, he was on his feet, striding into the water. Stepping up behind her, he wound his arms around her waist, folding her against him. Dragging the coils of her hair behind her shoulder, he pressed his lips against the pulse throbbing beneath her earlobe. Only then did he realize that what he’d heard was her heartbeat, dancing counterpoint to his.

“I’m sorry”, he whispered. And he meant it. He ached for her to know he never would have taken her virginity if he’d known why she offered it. He yearned for her to understand he'd never meant to invite harm her way. Resting his chin on the top of her head, he peered across the violet tinged water, searching for the words he needed to communicate the chain of tragedies that had led him here, to her. A breeze rippled the lagoon, pushing neon streaks of magenta along in its wake. “I’m so sorry,” he said again.

Sirenia turned around in the circle of his embrace, threading her arms around his neck. “For what do you have to feel sorrow? The only sinner I see reflected in those golden eyes of yours is me. And if you stay this close, I promise, I will have no choice but sin again…to take you again.”

Liane Gentry Skye - Day 2

Please welcome Liane back to the island! Today she's giving us a little more insight into her writing process and what it's like to write for one of the hottest publishers in erotic romance!

1. You just had two releases out from Red Sage, practically back to back. What’s it like writing for such a well-respected publishing house?

Red Sage was the first publisher of my dreams, and they are a joy to write for. My editor, Theresa Stevens, is an amazing woman with an impressive academic and professional background. She knows how to get the best out of my writing without altering my voice.

2. What would you say has been your most significant accomplishment as a writer?

Learning to open a vein on the page and let the character's emotions rule the scene.

3. What is your writing process? Are you a plotter or pantster?

I *want* to be a plotter. But my characters have their own opinions on that. So in the end, I'm a pantser, all the way, and I'm coming to accept that.

4. How long have you been writing?

Since…I could hold a pencil? Seriously, I wrote a lot in elementary school, then kind of dropped it through junior high when art and dancing went on the front burner. When I couldn't dance anymore, the writing urge came home to roost.

5. Tell us something about yourself that we might not know.

I wanted to be a professional dancer/actress. When I had a child of my own—wayyy to young—I realized that performing arts wasn't the kind of world where I wanted to raise her. So I channel that urge to perform into my writing now, and for me, writing truly is a performing art. I write "to" my readers, trying to anticipate their emotional reactions to what I'm doing.

6. What are you currently working on?

I have terrible ADD, inattentive type. So I tend to work on three or four projects at a time. Eventually, one of them pushes its way to the forefront and demands my constant attention. Right now, I'm captivated by the revisions for Wicked Redemption, the companion novel to Wicked Temptation which debuted at
http://www.eredsage.com/ this month. Wicked Redemption is a very steamy steampunk romance, and the final book in the Three Kinds of Wicked series, which is Red Sage's first author developed series.

I also have a text novel going at http://www.textnovel.com/, Muse Struck, as part of the Dorcester Next Best Celler contest. I appreciate any and all thumbs up votes on it! It's a great place to get acquainted with the text novel phenomenon that is sweeping Japan and to score some great free reads. There's a lot of talent there, I'm always impressed by the quality of the stories.

7. Anything you’d like to add for your readers and/or aspiring writers?

There is never a good time to reach for your dreams. Life will always throw in wrenches and curve balls. The difference between the want-ers and the do-ers is just that, doing. Just write. Write every day even if it's just a sentence. The best thing I ever admitted to myself was that I wasn't writing because I *chose* not to. It was, at the time, easier to say "I can't," than admit to myself that I was afraid to make the commitment and risk failing.

Please join us tomorrow for Liane's last day on the island! And remember, one lucky commenter will receive a signed copy of Secrets Volume 27 or her recently released ebook, Wicked Temptation. Simply leave a comment and the winner will be announced tomorrow!

Liane Gentry Skye - Day 1

Please welcome author Liane Gentry Skye to the island!

Liane Gentry Skye was considered the girl most likely to become a nun in high school. Upon graduation, she wasted no time rewriting her miserable destiny. Two marriages, one real life alpha hero and four beautiful babies later, she decided it wise to exchange her rhinestone thong for soccer mom sweats. These days, her walk on the wild side lives (mostly) in her imagination. The mother of two children with autism, what time she doesn't spend breathing life into her secret fantasies, she spends grant writing and advocating for a better world for persons with autism.

Thank you so much for joining us on the island, Liane! You’ve just had a couple releases with Red Sage, one of my favorite publishers! Even better, you’re featured in the most recent Secrets (Volume 27). I fell in love with Secrets after reading Volume 9 and I’ve been hooked ever since. You have a smooth, almost magical writing style so I’m super excited to have you here and can’t wait to get to know the ‘real’ Liane a little better! On to the fun stuff: questions!

Since this is your very first time on the island, there are some things we must know about you!

1. If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you bring with you?

You know, I've never been one to pack light, so this is going to hurt. But I know I could never do without paper and pen. A life without chocolate? Not going to happen, so, I'd need a lifetime supply of dark chocolate. Now, for the third, I'd have to choose my hubby. :) I figure all those survival schools he went through as a Navy SEAL will come in right handy. Doesn't hurt that he's cute, either. ;)

2. Boxers, Briefs, boxer briefs, kilt, commando

Uhhh…I'll take the commando option if it includes tight-ish jeans. ;) If it's not an option, bring on the kilt!

3. Favorite Heroine:
Hope Harper in Deidre Knight's Midnight Warrior series. Hope is strong and intuitive, and never lets blindness stop her from living, or loving.

4. Favorite Sex song:
I'm assuming you mean the song that makes me feel romantic?

That would be one by Creed, One Last Breath. The song is, for me, the perfect "black moment" song, angsty, emotional, intense. Everything I love in a good romance, actually!

5. What accent is guaranteed to make you do naughty things?
It's a toss-up between Italian and a Scottish brogue. Oh, but I love a proper British accent, too. On, and then there's those sexy Aussies. Ack. Can we just say I never met an accent I didn't like? ;)

6. What six books would you bring with you if you were stranded on a desert island?
Hmmm…is there a volume of everything ever printed? I want that one. ;) Seriously, I'd choose…

Gone with the Wind

The Works of Pablo Neruda

The Bible

Outlander

The Time Traveler's Wife

The Lovely Bones

You just reminded me that I need to read The Time Traveler's Wife! Want to finish it before the movie comes out :)

Come back tomorrow for an in-depth interview with Liane on her writing process and what it's like writing for Red Sage. Also, Liane's been kind enough to offer a signed copy of Secrets Volume 27 to one lucky commenter. Just leave a comment today or tomorrow and I'll announce the winner (U.S. eligible only) on Wednesday!
