About Me featuring Katie

Tuesday's Island Babe is Katie Reus. Katie practically grew up at the beach where she divided her time between swimming, sunbathing, and reading Carolyn Keene or Judy Blume. She was born and raised in the Sunshine State (aka Florida) and has lived there most of her life, except for a three year leave of absence when she moved to North Carolina for school. Somewhere in the midst of cursing the snow, rebelling against the restrictive footwear, and trying to graduate, Katie met her real-life Prince Charming. She'll read anything that sparks her interest, although she does tend to read romantic suspense more than anything else. And that's exactly what she writes. Katie writes about every day, strong women thrown into precarious situations, and the men who love them.

Favorite Reading Position
The Beach

Best love song
Underneath Your Clothes by Shakira

Favorite Heroine
Ahhh, this is too hard so I'm going to go w/ one of my newest faves! Hope Malory from Raintree Haunted. When she threatens to shoot Gideon if he touches her again (spontaneous orgasms and all that) I developed a girl crush. (AND, she gets to sleep with Gideon)

Author everyone loves but you don’t
Anne Stuart

If you could be in one book/series/world which would you pick
I would LOVE to be in Nathalie Gray’s Lycan series (Primal, Feral, Carnal, etc.)

How old is your inside voice
22

Favorite sex song
I know this is so cliché, but I’m going w/ a classic. Let’s Get It On by Marvin Gaye.

If you could be a hero who would you be
Gideon Raintree (all those special powers!!)

What heroine is most like you
I think this is considered chick lit, but Bettina Robinson from Everyone Worth Knowing (by Lauren Weisberger)

What heroine would you like to be
Jainie Bright for the obvious reasons

Boxers, Briefs, boxer briefs, kilt (I say we add commando)
heh, commando all the way!

Favorite book set on a tropical island
ask me again later ;)

What hero is most like your significant other
Matt Sanders from Pursuit (Elizabeth Jennings)

What hero would you like to be your significant other
If I HAD to pick…Matt Sanders or Sam Donovan

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you bring
water distiller, a flare gun, and my husband (mainly b/c he’s a no joke survivalist, but also, if I’m gonna be stuck, well…I don’t want to get bored)

Favorite drink to bring to the DIK party
Etra dirty vodka martini w/ extra blue cheese olives!

HEY KATIE!!!!

Shakira is a great singer and her BODY rocks I want abs like that. AWWWW so sweet you would take your hubby!

So I have the 16 candles birthday song in my head and no friggin idea why anyone want to help get it out? I thought about Let's get it on as a replacement but my co-worker glared at me. Don't think she likes it. *sigh*

I heart Shakira so much!! I got to go to her concert last year and it was so surreal. I would equate it w/ meeting Nora Roberts :)

I say you should definitely sing a little Marvin Gaye at work! I love freaking my coworkers out....but I'm probably more evil than you, lol ;)

I will add a little maybe unknown fact about Mrs. Reus, she has the most gorgeous long curly hair I have ever seen (she is beautiful) and she should be the one modeling on the cover of romance novels.

Carrie - Aww, I'm totally blushing now :)

Oh, Sam Donovan... ::sigh::

Sontaneous orgasm? What??!!?! I need to hunt down this book.

And Jaine Bright? I have realized she is the heroine that I am most like. Sarcastic, says things she shouldn't, drawn to smartass sexy men.

Aw! Bringing you hubby? Too cute :)

Hi Katie!

I grew up reading Carolyn Keene too! Nancy Drew books were the beginning of my book addiction.

My son cringed when I told him I named him Drew after Nancy Drew.( I didn't really, I was teasing him) I told him it could be worse...I could have named you Nancy. Bwahahaha.

I need to check out Nathalie Gray's Lycan series. Sounds cool.

What great answers. And how sweet to bring your husband along. He can teach us all survival stuff.

Carolyn Keene books at the beach...what could be better for a young girl?

Hi Katie
I wish my body could shake like Shakira's. You chose the same sex song I did (as well as a couple of the other ladies) Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye. I guess it still resonates!

I really envy you living in a state where there's always sunshine - when you live in the Great White North (Toronto) you appreciate sunshine and warmth.
I think it's so cool that you would take your husband to the island but why a flare gun?

That extra dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives (another of my favourites) sound really yummy.

Shannon - that's right. Us 'Sam lovers' have to stick together!! Definitely check out Haunted. Gideon does some crazy stuff w/ his lightning fingers and um yeah, it's a good time for everyone involved ;)

Kim - Nathalie Gray is great! I stumbled across her by accident and I normally don't like sci-fi type stuff but she's a fabulous world-builder!

Sarai - yeah, that scene still gets me hot :)

Carolyn - I love the man, what can I say? (I'm a geek, lol)

Wave - The flare gun is in case we get bored and need rescuing ;)

Katie--I'd comment but I'm too busy fanning myself!

Gideon - hot man.

I need to check out this Lycan series you mentioned.

ok I have to ask...flare gun? Like you want to be saved??? lol

Great answers and I'll take that martini now! :)

Oh my gosh so I'm sitting here at work right? And I click on the blog and the naked man jumping out of the water pops up as my boss walks by. HE didn't even blink and kept going for his coffee. I think he's use to crazy stuff popping up (literally and not) around me *blushing* Lord help me.

Katie Reus said...

Tracy - I know, I'm staring at the clock wondering when I can leave and actually have a martini!!

Sarai, why am I not surprised, lol!

Well, I learned much more about the elusive Miss Reus...22 year old voice huh? interesting...you with your curly long hair.

Sarai said...

Yeah it didn't surprise the co-worker either who LHAO... Sigh one day I will work from home and this will not be an issue.

Uh oh, I just bought an Anne Stuart book this weekend. Hmmm.

Great heroes! And Elizabeth is writing a sequel of sorts to Pursuit called Masquerade.
I miss old Ann Stuart historicals though.

Katie Reus said...

Katiebabs - How do you know that??? I try to find as much info on Elizabeth Jennings as I can and short of stalking her (which is hard since she lives in Italy) I can't find much! You must give me details ;) (I've never read Anne Stuart's historicals)

JenB - I've read a few of her books and for some reason each of her heroes rubbed me the wrong way. She's very talented, her voice just isn't my style I guess :)

KT Grant said...

I am the shadow, I know all ;)
Anne Stuart used to write the most incredible historicals! A Rose at Midnight is one of my favorite romances of all time by her.
I am more of a fan of her historicals than her contemps.

Oh Sam....yum!

I love that Markie Mark. OH so FINE.

sorry.

Nicely done.

Sam Donovan - yea - I would have liked to have picked him - but alas, he was gone.

Shannon said...

heehee! Yes he was taken. And he is all MINE!!!

Bridget Locke said...

Okay, so maybe I'm weird, but Shakira's voice totally grates on my nerves. :( Dunno why...just does.

Katie-Loved your answers. I was big on Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and Nurse Cherry (they were written in the 50's. Don't know how I got into them or even remember plots but I loved them when I was 12). :)

It is like pea soup here today. Stupid marine air. I hate humidity. *sigh*

Hi Katie!
So glad I wasn't the only one bringing her husband along. Even in a fantasy world, when it comes down to it, I want my man.
