About Me featuring Sula

Sula's our Tuesday DIK lady. Her interests include traveling the world, reading a good toe-curling romance and rocking out to the music of U2!

Favorite Reading Position
propped up with many pillows in bed

Best love song
With or Without You by U2

Favorite Heroine
Claire from Outlander. Kickarse, sarcastic, strong and smart. No wonder Jamie loves her.
Author everyone loves but you don't
Lara Adrian (I tried, I really did, but for my money, I'll take the REAL thing...which would be JR Ward. Now I'm sure to be tarred and feathered. lol)

If you could be in one book/series/world which would you pick
Outlander (although lord knows, it's a dangerous place)

How old is your inside voice
Not sure how to answer this one. 15? 32?

Favorite sex song
Kanawa by Habib Koite (Malian musician with a voice like velvet)

If you could be a hero who would you be
Rhage from Lover Eternal, cuz I'd get to be a dragon in addition to a hot ass-kickin' mofo. heh.

What heroine is most like you
Unfortunately, I am no heroine. I wish I was like Jessica in Loretta Chase's masterpiece "Lord of Scoundrels".

What heroine would you like to be
See previous answer. I would also love to be Claire from the Outlander series because then I would have Jamie (le sigh).

Boxers, Briefs, boxer briefs, kilt (I say we add commando)
Let's go with kilt because that gets you two for the price of one. Kilt and commando.

Favorite book set on a tropical island
Beyond Paradise by Elizabeth Doyle. A unique little book recommended to me by KristieJ. How many deaf pirate heros have you read about? Yeah, thot so.

What hero is most like your significant other
I have yet to read a romance novel (or any novel really) in which the hero is a hot West African. Maybe I should write one.

What hero would you like to be your significant other
James Alexander Malcom MacKenzie Frazier (Jamie)

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you bring
Having actually lived in remote jungle locations for most of my life, I can say that food, mosquito repellent and reading material would all figure highly on my list. A source of fresh drinking water, a way to make fire, and some sort of portable shelter would also be a priority.

Favorite drink to bring to the DIK party
Cold Corona beers with lime wedges

OOOOOHHHHHH JAMIE!!!! *swoons*

Great answers. I concur. Rhage is also my favorite. His beastie thing reminds me a lot of Nalini Singh's changeling men with their inner leopards and jaguars (and many of them are multi-ethnic).

Where in the jungle have you been living?

Wooo, not really West African, but one of the Dirk and Steele books by Marjorie has the main guy originally from Africa.
If you write it, I'll read it...and then pester you, then pester you some more...hehehehehehe. May I start pestering you now?

Corona, I love it! Esp with lime. Yum.
Had a look for the music on youtube and saw Batoumambé? Absolutely beautiful!

You know what? I think it was a big big mistake to include men's photos in our about us.

Even though I loved to read about Sula and how she luuuuurvs Jamie, about Beyond Paradise which is in my TBB list since Katie pimped it, all I want to talk about is: Gerry Butler. Atila. *drools* Best Gerry movie ever. *LOL*

OMG...you and I Sula we really stick to what we love. We're just LOYAL! Heh. At least Jamie won't have to kick his own ass...

corona...mmmmmm.....

sula - I'll forgive you the Lara Adrian thing, if you'll forgive me for not loving Outlander.

Pleeeease??

Huh, I must check out Elizabeth Doyle. Never heard of the book.

Is that the sound of a gauntlet thrown???

Not only a deaf pirate hero - but a deaf pirate who isn't captain - just a regular ole pirate - now that IS unusual isn't it?
And I love that U2 song. And I won't tar and feather you for not liking Lara Adrian *grin* but *gulp* I like her better then JR.

Remote jungle location? Do tell!!

remote jungle locations - where was this? Was it fun? What did you do?
Can I ask any more questions?

Deaf pirate that's not the captain? This I gotta read!

Corona with lime - one of my favs!

Ok - not normally a Gerry fan *ducks and runs for cover* but this pic of him is mighty fine. I'll take 10 of those please.

Jamie! *sigh*

Yay for Rhage!!!

Beyond Paradise sounds good...I'll have to check it out.

All in all great answers and since you have lived in a jungle before, I will be taking your advice if we have a crisis on the island!

Hey sula!
I love "With or Without You" by U2 as well. Beautiful lyrics sung with that sultry slightly melancholy voice... Love it. :)

A deaf pirate? Whoa... I gotta check that out, too! O_o

whew, finally able to check in after a lonnnng day at work. Didya know that this blog has a content warning? I figure I'd best not risk click on something like that while under the auspices of work. hmph.

sooooo, let's see here. Where in the jungle has sula lived. My parents' choice of profession brought us to a remote jungle village on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. A honest-to-goodness jungle. Complete with monkeys and snakes and stuff. And no electricity or running water. No TV meant that I read LOTS of books as a kid.

little alys, i will check out that Dirk and Steele book. If I could write, mebbe I'd give it a whirl. Oh who am I kidding...I'm way too lazy. lol

sarah, glad to hear you were able to find some of Habib's music. Looks like at least two of his songs are available to listen to at his US label's website. I heart him.

ana, i just adore that picture of Gerry. It fits so many occasions and heros. heh.

lb, that's us alright...loyal! predictable? nah, just dependable. ;)

mk, I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree. to each their own, n'stuff. :)

kristie, I do have to give you props. you come up with some of the most unique recommendations. that was a really fun little book.

all: yeah, the deaf pirate who isn't even the captain. *g* it's a nifty story. And the heroine is pretty pragmatic, which I liked. There are some silly moments, but overall I quite enjoyed it as a lark.

mmmm, U2. love 'em love 'em.

Jamie is my number one favorite fictional character of all time, I think. Flaws and all. He's just so human and so....well. You just have to know him. le sigh.

KT Grant said...

Jamie is the only redhead man I lurve. Sigh.

KT Grant said...

And wouldn't Gerry play a perfect Jamie if Outlander was made into a movie? hmmmmm....

I really need to try to read Outlander again. My friend lent it to me years ago and I could never get past the first few chapters.

Stephanie*magic* said...

I read Otlander but never had the urge to read the rest.
Mmmmm, Corona, lol!!

I love that pic of Gerry! In my phase of crazy-obsessiveness wit hPhantom of the Opera, I actually ordered magnet wtih all my favorite shots of him in the movie, then found out the girl also made some with pics of him from other movie. That's the one I ordered from Attila :-D. Lovely. And those eyes. Yum.

And I don't like Lara Adrian either. I read the first two because of the hype and despite hearing the third one was apparetnly better, I couldn't bring myself to buy it. They felt so shallow comparaed to the BDB *dodges Kristie's rotten tomatoes*, and none of the characters moved me. Hell, they didn't INTEREST me.

Outlander on the other hand...great stuff, great stuff. I need to finish my re-read of Dragonfly in Amber. It's a week overdue at the library.

Thank God, someone's bringing the Corona and limes. Limes will prevent ricketts, you know. All the pirates will want them. That was a piratey problem.

Captain Jack Sparrow and I thank you for that reminder...

SCORE ON THE JACK SPARROW!

(oh and the dental floss...idk, his teeth scare me a bit)
