About Me featuring Kristie J

Next up of our island babes is Kristie J from Canada

Favorite Reading Position
There is something almost naughty in that question!! But being the grandkidless grandmother in the group, I’ll answer in a non-naughty way. I have this really great couch/sofa that reclines – and has a massage feature. That’s where I do most of my reading.

Best love song
OK bear with me on this one. It’s I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner. You see – being a big 80’s kind of girl, Miami Vice was a must watch television show. While I thought Sunny Crocket played by Don Johnson was mighty fine, it was Tubbs played by Philip Michael Thomas who really rocked my boat. There was this one episode in particular that featured a romance between Tubbs and a woman. She was killed at the end, and the song they played was I Want To Know What Love Is. Ever since then, it’s been one of my favourites. And Kristie has supplied us with a link.

Favorite Heroine
This is such a hard question to answer!! There have been so many I’ve loved over the years. But after pondering on it, I think Jessica Trent of Lord of Scoundrels is my all time favourite. But not by much!

Author everyone loves but you don’t
Oh crap! This question is going to get me into trouble – I just know it. *heavy sigh* JR Ward. I like her. Really I do! I just don’t love her like everyone else on the island.

If you could be in one book/series/world which would you pick
Hmm – another real tough question. I think I’d have to answer the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovitch. They are just so damn funny, I‘d want to follow Stephanie around so I could laugh at all her problems. And Granny Mazur rocks! I’ve already got 2 people I work with turned onto this series.

How old is your inside voice
Ah – you mean Krisite!! Well, she is 28. And I can even describe her. She is much taller than me, about 5’7”, much slimmer than me and unlike me, she jogs. She has long blond hair and big blue eyes. Women envy her – but like her. Men just want her. And she doesn’t have to wait around in grocery stores to ask someone taller than her to fetch her something on a top shelf.

Favorite sex song
You mean song I find sexy or song I have sex to? I can only answer the question if you mean the first. And I think the answer to that one is In The Heat of The Jungle by Chris Isaac. Phew! It’s a melter. Come to think of it though, it might be good for the other interpretation of the question too! There is some heavy duty moaning going on it that song.

If you could be a hero who would you be
And why would I want to be a hero again?

What heroine is most like you
I really don’t have an answer to that one.

What heroine would you like to be
On the other hand, this one is easy! Eve Dallas. She’s tough. She kicks ass on a regular basis. And she has Roarke! Who wouldn’t want to be Eve?

Boxers, Briefs, boxer briefs, kilt (I say we add commando)
OK – this is a boring answer – but boxer briefs

Favorite book set on a tropical island
It’s not exactly an island – but it is the tropics – River of Eden by Glenna McReynolds

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you bring
Beer, books and best friends (now a round of aaawwwwsss)

Favorite drink to bring to the DIK party
Beer! While I like Pina Coladas better, liquor makes my tummy hurt after 2. Beer on the other hand goes down real fine on a hot summer day!

You can find Kristie here or at her blog Ramblings on Romance, Etc.

I love reading what everyone likes to drink. As a former bartender, I think it says alot about a person :) There is nothing like a cool beer on a hot day!! Yay for Corona's :)

Yes, but Kristie, it's how you use the "massage feature" that's naughty, you little minx!

"In the heat of the jungle, in the heat of the night,

Sat an African princess in the pale moonlight.

She said "Go bobalu. Go, baby go. I love you, I love you, tonight."

Love that song, even if I've always been a "Kings of the Highway" sorta gal.

May I just say that I find yalls DIKs absolutely fascinating? What great concept for a blog, first as a joint-blog discussion...and now DIK has its very own home on the web!

Frankly I admire ALL of the DIK presenters here. I don't know how yall could narrow down those DIKs so precisely and lovingly. I would find it very hard to choose my DIKs. In fact, I've laid hands on some I thought would work, but then just couldn't decide. So many good possibilities, so many DIKs!

Kristie(J)! A cold brew! YAY! And I'd smuggle Richard Armitage on the Island just for you in heart beat.

Hey! Great answers! I totally thought about living in Stephanie Plum's world, too! I want her family to have me over for dinner.

For all of you early commenters there's now a link to the Miami Vice/Foreigner song! Go Kristie! :)

Mmmm - beer!

I'm not usually a beer drinker, but on a hot day, an ice cold Corona sure does hit the spot!

The summer before I turned sixteen, I had a nineteen year old boyfriend (I can't believe I got away with that... my parents were super strict...). But needless to "I Want to Know What Love Is" was our song. Just thought I'd share that.

Jessica Trent! Great choice! I heart Jessica. Out of all the Dik lists, yours was the one that most matched mine. I wanted After the Night and Dreaming of You!

Haha, I remember watching Miami Vice with all their pastel shirts and sockless feet. I am I total 80's girl too!

I know all about the cheesey love song thing. My Boytoy thinks the best love song is Take My Breath Away by Berlin. He's younger than me, for goodness sakes! I only cut him some slack because it was in Top Gun and he is a pilot. Otherwise? puh-leez!

It's OK if you don't feel the mega-love for Ward. That leaves the Brothers for the rest of us!

Sarai - at the risk of being totally childish and obnoxious - to the point you may want to beat me over the head with the piece of driftwood that washes up up on the island - now I can say

nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah - I got his picture.

I had a sad day yesterday - that's why I'm late to responding but OK Kate - if I could be a sexy hero - I would be RICHard - so I could love myself

Katie: *g* so is being a beer drinker a good or a bad thing. Seriously, I would drink more drinks with liquor in them, but I just can't for some reason so I'm limited to wine and beer. And wine gives me a bad headache the next day when I experience one of those nasty hangovers.

MK: laughing - I was going to say vibrator but then everyone would get the wrong impression. As for what you're talking about, my old car, driving at a high rate of speed worked better (see - naughty)

Carrie: All his songs are great aren't they? It came down to a choice between In the Heat of the Jungle or Wicked Games, but I thought HOTJ went better with the whole DIK theme - that and the moaning.

Kmont: for me it was almost impossible!! There are so many others I wanted to pick too - and if I'm not mistaken, once we finish with the ones we DID pick, we get to do the ones we ALMOST picked.

Lisabea: I heart you! First for loving a good beer and second for being willing to smuggle RICHard for me *g*

CJ: one of the women I turned on to the Stephanie Plum books started reading them about a month ago - and she's already up to Ten Big Ones. Everyday she comes up to me to tell me what she's reading and we are both practically in tears from laughing over them. The other woman just started. She finished One for the Dough and promptly started calling UBS's for the rest as I don't have them all - I've read them all - well up to Twelve Sharp - I just don't have them.
And dinner at the Plum's would be SUCH a riot wouldn't it?

Tracy: Thanks for adding it. It's not very good quality music, but it get's the point across. I saw another one too that had much more action between Tubbs and his woman and wowzers - just wowzers - was it hot. It made me remember watching that particular episode with Ron. If I'm not mistaken, he had a smile on his face later on THAT night ;-)

Christine: There's something so full of longing with that song isn't there *sigh*

Kim: *laughing* I'm glad someone liked my choices. I could tell by the other island girls that chances were I would get most of mine. It's a nice thing having read so many books over so many years.
And yeah *sigh* Miami Vice - that was a great show wasn't it? I also remember that crazy bug vehicle that the two other guy detectives had.

Sarai: They are sexy aren't they? Nice and Tight - yet long enough not to look kind of silly like briefs do.

LA: *laughing* and trust me - I held myself back. I can have a real warped wicked sense of humour. A lot of people don't see that side of me and I think I shock them when it breaks free.

Naida: Thanks! It was fun thinking them up!

Shannon: *um*, *ahh* I like Take My Breath Away too. I have the soundtrack to Top Gun and it's one of my favourites on there.

Great answers, Kristie! I still haven't read JRW ~ I will eventually, I'm sure.

Margaritas or Pina Coladas are much better than beer. Just sayin'
