Michele Lang's first day with us!

Okay everyone let's give a warm welcome to my friend and wonderful Sci/fi fantasy author (who has enough romance to keep it warm at night) Michele Lang!!

Michele has never been to the island so when I emailed her and asked her to join me she said she would and send back the All About Me Questions! You can visit Michele on her website http://www.michelelang.com/ and don't forget about picking up a copy of Netherwood!!! Excent book I LOVED IT!!!
*clears throat* ahem where was I? Oh yeah welcoming Ms. Lang to our wonderful island.

Favorite Reading Position?

ANY position…I am of course a reading addict. But, if I get a choice, I love to read in bed all night, under piled-up mountains of blankets.

Best Love Song?

Roxy Music’s Avalon…the whole album is pretty romantic to me, because it reminds me of a particular place and time, where I first fell in love. There’s a song on that album called “Anything to Turn You On” that my husband and I insisted on dancing to at our wedding. 80s goodness J

Favorite Heroine?

Of my own books, it’s impossible to choose, like trying to choose between your children. I will say that I admire Magda Lazarus, the heroine in my upcoming LADY LAZARUS, for her indomitable spirit, and I would most like to be friends with Talia Fortune from NETHERWOOD – she is loyal and brave and smart, and she likes to have a good time too.

As for other books, I love a strong heroine…one favorite is Mercy Thompson.

IF you could be in one book/series/world which would you pick?

I enjoy losing myself in all the settings in my books as I write them…it’s the next best thing to actually being there. If I had to pick one, I would really love to disappear into NETHERWOOD, take on an avatar and lose myself in a place with no obvious consequences for my actions.

How old is your inside voice?

Which one? -- there are so many voices in my head! I’ve got the demanding two year old, the crazy in love seventeen year old, the tough and experienced thirty year old, and the wise and patient hundred year old – all commenting on everything, all the time. And that’s not even mentioning the characters running around in there!

Favorite Sex Song?

Heh. How about Wild Thing? J I shared an apartment once with a couple who used to blast Phantom of the Opera when they were feeling frisky…

If you could be a Hero who would you be?

Harry Dresden from the Dresden Files

What heroine is most like you?

My heroines are all tougher, smarter, and faster than me J Talia agonizes over her choices more than the others, so I would have to say in that respect we are alike – I can be, let’s say, a bit intense at times…

Favorite book set on a tropical island?

ROBINSON CRUSOE…did you see that new series that’s come out on NBC? Yowza.

What hero would you like to be your significant other?

All of them…I fall in love with all the heroes in my stories! Kovner’s crazy and passionate, King Arthur is, well, King Arthur, and the Angel Raziel is so celestial…

If you were stuck on a deserted island what 3 things would you bring?

My husband, a gigantic bottle of wine, and a DVD player blasting Roxy Music’s Avalon…or maybe Phantom of the Opera J

Favorite drink to bring to the DIK party?

Lichido martinis…very tropical J

Thank you Michele for joining us!!! Stick around ladies b/c Michele is with us for the next 2 days!

Hi Michele! Welcome to the island.

Has NBC's Robinson Crusoe series started already? I thought that sounded good... but I'm such a terrible TV person... I never seem to get with it to follow something every week.

Also, what's in a lichido martini?

Hiya Michele! Welcome to the island. I read my first Shomi last month and loved it. I'm totally excited to hear about Netherwood. Oh, thumbs up on Avalon.

Hey Michelle! Welcome to DIK, glad you could join us.

Question: what is a lichido martini?

I've only read one of the Shomi books and liked it. I'll have to check out Netherwood!

I was wondering about those martini's too. And I am going to have to check Netherworld out. The name and cover really struck me.

Hey everybody! Thanks so much for the kind words about NETHERWOOD!

Christine: It just started...I watch about zero TV, but it looks pretty good from what I've read about it! Here's the NBC site about it...http://www.nbc.com/Crusoe/

Carolyn Jean: Cool...I'm so glad you also love Shomi books. Every single one I've read so far is fantastic, and I swear I'm not just saying that!

Tracy: Lichido is this addictive liqueur made from lichees that tastes like fairy juice. I have to hunt down a recipe for you...

Pamk: Hi there! Hope you enjoy the book...I had a total blast writing it.

Nicole: Aw, thank you! And another Lichido fan, too :)

I ADORE Roxy Music and have their greatest hits and LOVE Brian Ferry. He is the coolest. Mind you I get the mocking when I listen to it and get told I am such an 80's girl. hehe. Cool post!
