Juliana Stone Picks Her Desert Island Keepers

Welcome back to our second day of fun and sun at DIK Juliana! As is tradition, I agreed to let Juliana wear my blowfish bikini top, and after all, the jaguar was leering at the fish lips as if he might enjoy a snack! Yikes.. lol

Hows the fit there Juliana?

Well the fit seems all right, not sure how I look though!

Well, you look way better than I do in it that's for sure! lol
I have to say, you sure know how to party that was an awesome luau last night especially when your jaguar did his shift thing. *waggles brows*

My jaguars do have many, many hidden talents!

So, without further adieu I’m turning the mic over to Juliana, who is going to talk about her 5 favorite DIK books she has brought along to the island.

Well I’m so glad to have time here to read these books over. Some I’ve already read several times but a keeper is a comfort read ya know? The ones you turn to over and over again for whatever reason! The following are mine!

Dark Desire by Christine Feehan.

This was the second book in her Carpathian series. The first hooked me totally but this one, there was just something about Shea and Jacques intense love story is one I love to revisit time and again.

Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell.

I love to read all kinds of genres and I love the Kay Scarpetta books. The detail and rich characters are intertwined so well with the crime story. I love it.

Blue Eyed Devil, by Lisa Kleypas.

This was the last book I read where I stayed up until 4 in the morning so that I could finish it. I loved it. It made me cry and I was so invested in the characters. A must read. I have Smooth Talking Stranger waiting for me when I finish the book I’m currently writing!

Acheron, by Sherrilyn Kennyon.

I love her Dark Hunter series, like a lot! And Acheron is one dude who I could not wait for his story to be told. I need to read this book again because I know there is stuff I missed first time around!

I might be cheating but I’d also bring along the Mortal Instruments Trilogy by Cassandra Clare.

It’s YA but I loved them. All three of them. The world building is wonderful and I just totally fell in love with the characters.

Thanks Juliana! Awesome choices…

And, Acheron? - Yum!

*Contest Is Now Closed*

Juliana returns for her final day on DIK tomorrow and will be chatting with us about.. Well, you’ll have to stop by and check out her awesome post!

Keeper shelf with Feehan, Cornwell, Kenyon and Clare is a funny thing because 2 of these are my all time favorite reads also. Dark Desire by Christine Feehan cemented by addiction to the Carpathian series and Acheron finally getting his own sometimes dark and always riveting story just made me that much more in love with Kenyon's world!!!

On to tomorrow here at DIK!!!

Nice picks, I haven't read anything on your list but off to read some reviews on them. Thanks!

Acheron is one of my desert island books. I never reread books, but I've already read that one twice and I was just thinking yesterday it was about time to read it again.

uliana, the blowfish are so you! lol
We agree on alot of the same reading material...Feehan's books are great, Dark Desire was one of my faves, it was so dark and intense. I also liked Dark Symphony, Antoinetta & Byron's story.

Acheron is one book I waited years for and was not disapointed. I think I might re-read that one soon.

Blue-Eyed Devil is the one book of Lisa's that I haven't read. Guess I need to look into that!

Sorry Juliana, somehow I lost your J. here it is JJJJJJJ, with a few extra's , just in case.

Hi Juliana!
fantastic choices - half of the books are keepers for me too :)
greetings, Ina

Acheron is one of my all-time favorites too! I had the hardest time reading the first half of the book, even knowing it was obviously going to be very intense. Kenyon's world is an amazing place and I have all of her books and love each one, but Acheron is my all-time favorite....and you gotta love Simi too:)

You are right elaineg0707 - we sure can't forget Simi! Acheron's sidekick is so very cool. *g*

Hey Juliana,
Great selection of books for deserted island reading. Christine Feehan was one of the very first authors who got me totally addicted to paranormal romances as was Kenyon. Hope you're having some yummy drinks during your stay at DIK.

LOL, well I've moved onto coffee actually! So what historical by Kleypas should I start with?

And on a historical note, I will add I adore Julia Quinn. Mr. Cavendish I Presume and The lost Duke of Wyndham I read over a few days and was completely hooked on her. I have On the Way to the Wedding waiting for me too...if I ever get these copy edits done!

Great list of books, I'm going to check out the ones I missed!

And I'm wondering what do you wear with your borrowed blowfish bikini top, on the bottom that is? Is there a matching bottom?

Juliana stone said...

Sue, if I over indulge in the ice cold Corona I might be tempted to take a pic and post it, teehee....we shall see

Great list, I love how varied you are. I'll have to agree on the early Feehan novels, they were somethin' else.

That bikini top is um...interesting. xD;

Hi Juliana
Re Lisa Kleypas, a good place to start would be with her Wallflower series - Secrets of a Summer Night, It Happened One Autumn, Devil In Winter (my favourite) and Scandal In Spring.Don't think you'll be disappointed

Kara said...

Ahhhh...I totally agree with you on the love story between Shea and Jacques. I reread this one too!!!

I have to admit, I haven't read Acheron yet...it is in my stack but need to get caught up with the series before delving into his story!! I am up to Valerius.

Suzy thanks for the Kleypas titles...I've written them down!

Fedora said...

Ooh, intrigued by your choices. I have a bunch of Feehan and Kennyon on the TBR but haven't jumped in yet :) And I love that you reward yourself with books when you finish writing :D I reward myself with books, too, but it's usually for finishing much more mundane things, like the towering pile of laundry... :)
