Knowing this we’ve decided to hold the 2010 DIK Book Reading Challenge. The Challenge? Each month you will pick one of the 188 books that the DIK Ladies have brought to the island, read it, review it on your blog and then show us the link. It's simple and we think it will be a ton of fun!
Do you have to be a DIK lady to do the challenge? Nope. If you are a DIK lady are you required to do the challenge? Nope.
Rules:
1. Pick one book from the DIK book list to read and review.
2. Book reviews can be posted any day during the last week of each month.
3. Link back to the blog when you do a DIK Book Reading Challenge (we'll do a sticky post). If you don’t link to us we won’t know that you’ve posted a review! :)
4. Please clearly state in the title of your post that the review you are posting is for the DIK Book Reading Challenge.
At the end of the year the participants that have posted reviews for all 12 months will be put in one big pot and we will draw a name to win a $50 gift certificate from Amazon/Borders/Barnes and Noble/Books A Million (really it's your choice which place you want the certificate from as long as we can purchase it from our computer!)
That’s it! Simple right? Yeah that’s what we thought so sign up and let's get this started… speaking of starting it will begin on January 1st! Now excuse us while we go figure out which books to pick *wink*
If you'd like to join please leave a comment with your name and a link to your blog.
Don't forget to pick up our beautiful Challenge button (made by our very own Lea, thank you Lea!) to put on your sidebar.

Well, crap. I suck at challenges, but... this tempts me. Is there a chance you'll be adding more DIK residents and books, too? Or is the island getting too crowded?
LOL Chris! We're not adding any in at the moment but you never know with us. :) Come on! It will be fun!
Sign me up! I love challenges!!

I think this is one challenge that I can actually accept without feeling burdened. There are so many books on here that I have been meaning to read it will give me a good excuse to bump them up the TBR. Kill two birds with one stone. Thanks for the great challenge!

After failing at the TBR challenge this year. I think I'll give this one a go. I'm sure in the 188 books they'll be something that's already on my TBR pile. :)
Yay! Fun! I do believe I'll play this one too. You know, since I actually *live* on the island.
*claps hand* yay! Thanks for playing everyone. I think it will be great.
FYI - I'm doing it too...there are too many of these books I keep saying I'll read and then I don't. This will give me a good push.

It sounds like I'm going to have to do a "Challenges" post. :-)
Ooh, this is the perfect challenge for me. I'm so up for this, sign me up por favor! Great idea!
Well I'm game of course LOL!

I, like Chris, suck at challenges (I didn't get 100 pages into my big book for the Chunkster), but I love my fluff and my brain candy, so please sign me up!
I'm at anotherpurl.
I have a question, instead of putting the DIK Book Reading Challenge in the title, would it be okay to post it at the beginning of my review? I review for Book Binge and we have a certain way to label our reviews.
Just wondering and is it okay for me to start working on my list of books that I'm going to read from your list or do I have to wait until January to start? Please advise...can you tell I'm excited?
I'm in! This is a first for me so we shall see if I'm up to it.

Welcome everyone! This is gonna be fun. :)
Rowena - that would be fine. Go ahead and put the DIK info at the beginning of the review. :) And you're gonna pick your books ahead of time? Sure go right ahead. Wow - you and Kara are on the ball. I'm more a fly by the seat of my pants girl and need to see what I want to read at that time.
Just dropping in to check you out...great blog!

Count me in! This will be a great way to get me writing more reviews and make some more friends out here in book blogosphere!

i hope I am doing this right but here is my first reading challenge post.
The Besotted Bookworm: DIK 2010 Reading Challenge Review: Lisa Kleypas- Smooth Talking Stranger
Leslie - you're not too late at all!
Mame - You're a little early but that's ok for the first month. Normally the reviews are to be posted the last week of the month. We'll normally do a sticky post the last week so that you'll be able to post your review links. I'll put this one on the list for you! :)
Thanks Tracy!
:)

Wow, I just realized I intended to do the challenge, but forgot to leave a comment here *face palm*

I would LOVE to do this-if you don't believe me ask Josh and Claire-but I already review for JERR (Just Erotic Romantic Reviews) and I'm having serious trouble reviewing these days because I have thyroid cancer. Once I recover from surgery, I will have to have radiation treatment. That will take up a large portion of the beginning of 2010.
OK, I don't know if anyone else is having problems, but I am. I finally figured out how to get the sticky to where I wanted it. And when I try it out, Google tells me the link is broken. I've tried putting the sticky with the Challenge button and in the text of my review. It still comes up broken. When I tried to enter the whole thing in by hand, I could only get a tad in before I "ran out of room" or something. So now what, I'm ready to rock n'roll...

if someone can help I would appreciate it! Thanks!
Well, I haven't been on the ball with my challenges lately. Hell I haven't been on the ball when it comes to doing my reviews. But I am going to give this a shot!!!
Does anyone want a job--- Kick my butt if I don't get a review up before the end of the month!!
OOPS! I forgot to post my link...
heathersreadingromance.blogspot.com
I have a quick question... does the review have to be posted in the last week of the month or can we post anytime during the month? Also, I finished and reviewed one of the books on the list last week. Can I use it for the month of Jan, or should I set the book I am currently reading aside and start another on the list...Im pretty sure I can get it read b4 1/31.
DL – not too late at all!
Marcy – I’m so sorry to hear about your cancer. Hang in there honey. :)
Jessica – did you work out the issue? Please email me at redneyrae@ca.rr.com and I’ll see what I can do to help. :)
Heather – The reviews should be posted the last week of the month. Each month,7 days before the end of the month, a sticky post will appear in the DIK blog and you can post your links to the reviews in the comments.
Heather - for this month go ahead and use the one from last week...we're all learning as we go. :)
Thanks Tracy! I will repost the one from last week with the DIK challenge in the title, and link it back to the sticky.
I'd like to join the challenge. The link to my review blog is http://theblackravensreviews.blogspot.com
I'd love to join the challenge. Books are my one major vice (after chocolate) and I've viewed the list and see some old friends and new ones to get into.

I'm late to the game and out of the prize running, but thought it would still be fun to participate.
I posted my first review of "All the Queen's Men" on my blog:
