Please Welcome Fiona Jayde to the Island!

It is my great pleasure to introduce and welcome multitalented Author Fiona Jayde to the Island!

::Big round of applause - raising drinks::

I was delighted and honored when Fi agreed to guest here at DIK because I’ve been a fan since I read her short story “Booty Call”, in 2009. I have read a number of her publications since and I can tell you she pens steamy romances spanning a number of romance sub-genre’s including fantasy, science fiction, romantic suspense and contemporary! Fiona is also a gifted graphic artist and crafts her own book videos which are brilliant!

Fiona’s most recent release “Treasure of Devil’s Isle”, a time travel romance involving a handsome pirate is now available from Red Sage Publishing.

Welcome to DIK Fiona! I was quite um... excited to see you disembarking from the frigate that is anchored off shore and being escorted in the little landing skiff by a handsome... Wow, is he a pirate?

Thanks for having me Lea! Cap't Jared Tacht kindly agreed to escort me here to the island since I may be many things, but a sailor I'm not. *whispers* He is the son of the legendary pirate Edward Tacht but he really doesn't like to talk about it.

Oh, okay, cool, well, you’ll have to introduce him to myself and da ladies later. ;) (I for one am keen to be introduced!)

You got it!

Are you ready for the rapid-fire induction DIK “About Me”, questions?

*Nervous breath and exhale* Okay shoot!

Favorite Reading Position?

Sitting on the overstuffed green couch with hubby, my bright blue Snuggie and either or both of our cats. Especially when its raining.

Oh, I love kitties, that is so nice!
How old is your inside voice?

Umm... I'd say 19. Old enough to know better, but still crazy enough to do it anyway... Plus I have a real bad case of potty mouth.

I love potty mouths.. ;)
If you could be a hero who would you be?

Huh - tough question! I'd like to be Bruce Lee from "Enter the Dragon" and embody the teacher and the fierce warrior.

What heroine is most like you ?

Hmm... Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I used to be very shy and awkward and bookish until I came into my own "power" so to speak. The power in my case was learning and teaching martial arts - it's amazing how much confidence one gains when teaching little kids to kick and punch and yell..Maybe it was as simple as shouting over them? LOL

Willow was awesome! Even when she turned into an evil witch!
What heroine would you like to be?

I'd love to be Buffy - but sans all the conflicts and torture. I'd love to have super powers and kick major ass, but I don't have the spine for bearing the weight of the world on my shoulder. I do love that she's a survivor and looks stylish while kicking vampire butt:)

Yeah, Buffy was uber cool.
Boxers, Briefs, boxer briefs, kilt (I say we add commando)?

I'd say commando. Though a kilt could be interesting.

Favorite book set on a tropical island?

I'd have to say Paradise Rules by Beth Kery.

Oh Gawd, I loved Jace Koa, awesome hero!
What hero is most like your significant other?

I'd say Don Eppes from TV show Numb3rs. Very clear headed, take charge, calm (unless you push a major button), loyal, loves his family... and well... hot:)

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you bring?

My Kindle, chocolate covered pomegranate seeds, and the hubster:) (Hey, someone has to put a tent together and reach for coconuts! )

Chocolate covered pomegranate seeds? Wow, how, um yummy? lol Never heard of that one Fi!

Favorite drink to bring to the DIK party?

Something fruity and sweet... My sister in law introduced me to Captain Morgan mixed with peach juice - I'd say it would be perfect for DIK party!

ROFL! You sure have unique taste buds there Fiona!

Fi, you write really wonderful stories from a wide variety of romance sub-genres. Any particular favorite?

Thank you! I honestly can't say I have a favorite genre because it changes based on whatever book I want to write. When I was writing Cold Victory, I was in love with Sci Fi. Right now, I'm writing a romantic thriller and loving it.

Do you have a Question you would like to ask folks who stop by and say Hi today?

Who are some of your favorite romance heroes and why?

Thanks Fiona, great answers and a an excellent question for da ladies! LOL

Hi Fiona! Welcome to the Island!
I enjoyed that answers to questions, though I don't think we share the same tastebuds for food and drinks! LOL

Favorite heroes??? Oh there are so many great ones out there.

I really love "Clint" from "Dangerous Games" & "Dawg" from "Nauti Nights" by Lora Leigh. I like them because they are so darn sexy, funny, charming and dangerous all at the same time.

:o)

Good question Fiona! Some of my fav fictional heroes are men I probably wouldn't put up with in real life for very long - but in my fictional life, they are perfect!

1. Jamie Frasier from the Outlander series
2. Jack Reacher from Lee Child's series
3. Dean Robillard from Natural Born Charmer by SEP

Alpha men with lots of quirks and a BIG, um, sense of humor!

LOVE that description of the heroine! Sounds like a fun read.

Hmmm...for favorite hero, I'd have to go with Captain Wentworth from Persuasion by Jane Austen. I've sort of had him on the mind lately. Steadfast, intense, and loves Anne like whoa and damn. Works for me! :-)

Thanks for visiting the island and hosting the giveaway, Fiona!

Great interview, Lea!

Hi Fiona, I am looking forward to the next few days. My friend recommended you to me.

Favorite heroes...
really there are too many to list but I will say that I like them honest, strong and protective but not overbearing, sensitive, but not gushy, and oh yeah, tall, dark and handsome.

*stomach heaves at the thought of Captain Morgan and peach together*

Harry Dresden. Perhaps not the most romantic of heroes, but...

I like the rough and tough guys that are grumpy and just a little smooshy on the inside but hide it very well. So Vikings and um..Wrath from BDB series, and Roan from Infected by Andrea Speed. That sort of guy. :)

And I am going to have to check out chocolate covered pomegranate seeds. :)

Some of my favorite heroes are Leo from Lisa Kleypas' Hathaway series and Acheron from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. I love their sometimes funny/sarcastic personality and how they care about their loved ones. I loved reading about them both falling in love and overcoming the darkness of their past.

I have two favorite heroes that come to mind quickly (there are so any more but these two popped up without any thought at all).

Jamie from Outlander...so much can be said about him, but it is his quite strength, and he doesn't take himself too seriously.

The other would be Stefan Dalakis by N.J. Walters. He is a great tortured hero...and he is totally devoted to the heroine...plus being a vampire and able to shape shift into a wolf doesn't hurt either...LOL

Hi Fiona,
Thanks for the awesome visit today. I'm a huge fan of Buffy as well... would love to be kick-ass like her.

Some of my fave heroes are Braden from Megan's Mark by Lora Leigh (hellooo...he's like a super HOT Alpha with some seriously yummy modifications!) What's not to love?

Another fave is Webb Tallant from Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard. He's a forceful Alpha with a tragic past...tres romantic.

*hugs*
Anna

Hi Fiona,
Favourite hero? Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series. He does what needs to be done and in some ways is ahead of his time.

Chelsea B. said...

Ohh! Fun interview and question! Lets see:
1-- Valerian from Gena Showalter's The Nymph King. He was just so sexy and wanted his heroine like nothing else! Yum!
2-- Zsadist from JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I loved his journey. And it really was a journey. But when he finally got his HEA....*Sigh* I teared up. And I've never cried while reading a book before.
3-- Sebastian from Lisa Kleypas' Devil in Winter. I loved how he was who he was, but he also slowly grew MORE into who he was. And I love how much he cared for the heroine. He desired her, but you could tell he wanted to take care of her as well.
I could go on and on and on....But I'll stop there :-)

Hi Fi and Lea!!

According to my hubs, his favorite tropical drink is Malibu Coconut Rum and Coke, say it tastes will a Mounds candy bar... Yum?? As a non-drinker, I'll have to take his words for it. LOL Have you tried Chocolate Covered Sunflower seeds? I can only buy one package at a time. Too Yummy!

Some of my favorite heroes are Jean Claude from LKH's Anita Blake series (just cause he's the Master of the City, sexy, and not afraid of his sexuality), Kisten from Kim Harrison's Hollows Series (cause he was so sweet and saucy), and Sean from Beth Kery's Release cause DAMN~he's smokin'. I could go on and on, but they're all special... all yummy! PS: Galen was super hot, Lea beat me to him!

Thanks for visiting at the Island!!

Great interview and lots of fun info to process. I would also say that having a reader, and the ole hubby on a deserted island is absolute right, but I would substitute chocolate covered peanuts rather than pomegranate seeds. Just a personal preference. Thanks for visiting and sharing your some of yourself with all of us.

Hi Fiona,

Oh, I'll have a Captain Morgan drink, please. Yummy! Great interview, ladies.

As far as hero? I love Captain Jack Sparrow. He is such a scallywag, but so funny and endearing. And my all-time favorite is Jamie Fraser of Outlander...mmmm, honorable, passionate Alpha man in a kilt. Hooks me each time.

LOL, 19 year-old inner voice sounds a bout right. Fresh and delighted with almost everything she sees, that's Fi. And she does have a potty mouth, made all that much more entertaining in her slightly Russian accented valley girl voice.

Oh, and favorite heroes? I'm changeable, but at the moment, Darcy mixed together with Hans Solo.

Nice interview Fi and Lea! (Please don't include me in the draw).

Ah! To hard to pick a favorite romance hero...especially because I don't see a lot of my faves as necessarily "heroes"

Jerrico from KMM's fever series
Give me any of her McKelters too.
Janet Chapmans highlanders are drool worthy as well.

Marcus Cross by Karin Harlow.
If I could I would have a harem and all my heros in there to please me.

Most of my favorites have already been picked. I love the heroes with a past like Acheron and Zsadist. I also love the smart-aleck alphas like Dean Robilliard, and I always swoon over the super-heroic, romantic heroes like Sir Percy from the Scarlet Pimpernel.

Favorite drink for the party -Orangatanes, A slushy like drink, rum, triple sec, grain alcohol, 1/2 cup dry orange/pineapple tang, pinch of sugar, crushed ice in blender. To die for.

Favorite heroes, OMG so many great ones, lets start with JR Wards "Black Dagger Brotherhood" and end with Lynsay Sands "Argeneau's". They can star in any book for me.

Hi, Fi!! Enjoyed your interview! I love that you like to read AND write different genres--we readers certainly appreciate your genre-hopping!

I've never tried chocolate covered pomegranate seeds, but I'm game for chocolate-covered anything ;)

As for heroes, it's hard to choose just a few, because I'm usually in love with the hero I'm reading! A couple intriguing, memorable ones I've read recently--Cyn, from Jess Granger's Beyond the Shadows (scifi, and a great story!), and Soren, from Ava Gray's Skin Tight (another incredibly story). They're totally different but do have such presence--can't forget these guys!

Favorite heroes, my favorite subject matter :)

I'll name three but there's always more. Lord Winter from Kinsale's, The Dream Hunter; Harry Braxton from Brockway's, As You Desire and Gabe Rossiter from Pamela Clare's, Naked Edge.

My favorite hero tends to be the one in the book I'm currently reading so right now it is Jeremy Trescott, the Earl of Kendall, of Tessa Dare's "Goddess of the Hunt".

I, too, will try any food that is dark chocolate covered. ;)
